This set is all that we had hoped it would be. The table and benches are heavy duty and durable and if your child likes to color/draw/write then this is the perfect centerpiece for their play area. The paper roll provides them with continuous workspace as well as the chalkboard tabletop itself. We love this!

Eine gute Frage. Wirklich gut. Ganz ehrlich: Welches Wort im Zusammenhang mit der New Yorker Band “Nada Surf” mag ein Musikjournalist kaum mehr in seine Notizen kritzeln? Richtig: “Unterschätzt”.
Aber genau dies habe ich lange getan. Warum eigentlich? Vielleicht liegt es am Alter? Vielleicht haben “Nada Surf” nun aber auch endlich die Platte gemacht, mit der ich mich identifzieren kann?

you have gotta be someone you love”
Ist das der Grund? Egal. Die Platte scheint für mich gerade wie gemacht. Schlichte und unaufdringliche Melodien, radiotauglich, randvoll mit Ohrwürmern.
Trifft alles zu, aber ist sie dadurch lahmer Mainstream? Nein, noch immer nicht.
Schlichtweg feinster Gitarrenpop reduziert auf das Maximum.

The Weight Is a Gift: : Fröhliche Reflexionen über Fruchtfliegen, wütende Abrechnungen mit Machos und Vergewaltigern und Betrachtungen zur Liebe im besonderen und zur Beschleunigung des Weltgeschehens im allgemeinen: Das waren die Themen von Nada Surfs letzten beiden Alben The Proximity Effect (1998) und Let Go (2002), die zwar bei der Kritik großen Anklang fanden, gleichwohl keine großen Verkaufserfolge waren. Neben I am Kloot aus Engand sind Nada Surf der beste Beweis dafür, dass intelligenter Gitarrenrock/-pop nicht totzukriegen ist, und es zwischen hormongesteuertem Poserpunk und demonstrativ gebrochenem Liedermacher-Pathos - zwischen Green Day und Adam Green - immer noch genügend gangbare Wege gibt. Wo sich „notions“ auf „oceans“ reimen, und eine eher melancholische Weltsicht sich mit unbeschwertem Surf-Sound verträgt.
Nach fast drei Jahren nun also das neue Album. Erster Eindruck: Der Sound ist derselbe geblieben, nur die Arrangements sind noch perfekter geworden. Auf etwas schnellere Songs folgen etwas langsamere. Wiedererkennungswert: hoch – anders gesagt: nix Neues. Leise Enttäuschung. Wäre aber auch das erste Nada Surf-Album, das einem auf Anhieb gefällt. Also nicht verzagen, iPod auf Endlos-Repeat und ab in die Stadt. Beim dritten Hören von „Do It Again“ gerät die Seele in Schwingung: Während sich die Menschen um uns herum mit schweren Einkaufstaschen abplagen, zaubert der schwerelose Surfer-Harmoniegesang des (titelgebenden) Refrains ein leises Lächeln auf die Lippen: „The weight is a gift“. Beim vierten Hören wippt schon der ganze Körper mit. Und beim fünften Mal… – ach, was rede ich, hören Sie sich’s einfach selber an.
Fazit: An Let Go reicht The Weight Is A Gift nicht heran. Aber das ist ungefähr so, wie wenn man sagen würde, Rubber Soul von den Beatles reiche nicht an Revolver heran: Jammern auf hohem Niveau. – Axel Henrici - read more.

The ring had a great sparkle to it when it finally arrived (long time to ship). It was pretty darn small though - I wish the band width had been in the description because it was definitely a delicate ring and I was looking for something more robust.
Return process leaves something to be desired. You have to request an RAC in order to ship it back. Seems like there are better ways to process returns without the hassle of an RAC.

We own a standby Guardian generator and are very happy with the product. Living in a wooded area, we lose power often during wind and rain storms. In the event of an outtage, the lights go dark for approx 30 seconds and then LIGHTS! We have septic & well, and a small child so for us this was a necessity.

Splendid - Darkest Star - New York, NY
This recording is a gem - splendid and sultry from beginning to end. “Blonde On Blonde,” “Blizzard of ‘ 77,” ” Killian’s Red” et al are just ear candy hard pop - honey with just enough whisky smoke kick to make it memorable. “Fruit Fly” is icing. Get it. Let go. Play to end. Start over.
I highly recommend the Nada Surf NPR All Song’s Considered Concert podcast from earlier this year. That one is free….has a lot of these tunes.
